Rolex Daytona Platinum

The platinum Daytona is cased in 950 platinum, on a platinum Oyster bracelet, with a chestnut brown Cerachrom bezel and the ice-blue dial Rolex reserves for its platinum watches. It has come in two references: the 116506, launched in 2013 for the Daytona’s 50th anniversary, and the current 126506, introduced in 2023 as the first Daytona with a transparent case back.

Rolex Daytona Platinum Price

At Watch My Diamonds, the platinum Rolex Daytona is available at $103,158.

Rolex lists the 126506 at $91,200 with its diamond-set ice-blue dial. New platinum Daytonas are hard to get from authorized dealers, so on the secondary market both references usually sell above retail. Price depends on the reference, the dial, the condition and whether the original box and papers are present, with diamond-set and other rare dials at the top. A listing with no price shown is available on request, not sold.

Two Generations of the Platinum Daytona

The 116506 (2013–2023) was the first platinum Daytona, unveiled at Baselworld 2013 to mark fifty years of the Cosmograph. It paired the 950 platinum case and bracelet with a chestnut brown monobloc Cerachrom bezel and the ice-blue dial, and ran on calibre 4130, Rolex’s in-house chronograph movement, with a 72-hour power reserve. Rolex made it with a plain ice-blue dial and with a dial set with baguette diamonds, and a version with Eastern Arabic numerals went to Middle Eastern markets.

The 126506 (2023 to today) is the current model, launched with the rest of the new Daytona generation for the watch’s 60th anniversary. Its calibre 4131 adds Rolex’s Chronergy escapement and keeps the 72-hour power reserve. It is also the first Daytona with a sapphire case back, which shows the movement and its 18k yellow gold oscillating weight. Rolex makes it with the ice-blue dial and with an ice-blue dial set with diamonds. The Daytona reference guide covers every generation in detail.

The Ice-Blue Dial

Rolex reserves the ice-blue dial for its platinum watches, so the color itself signals the metal. The same dial appears on the platinum Day-Date, and every model that carries it is collected under ice-blue Rolex.

What to Check Before Buying a Platinum Daytona

Platinum is dense and heavy, but it still marks with wear. A scratch moves the metal rather than removing it, and over time the surfaces take on a soft satin patina that many owners like. Heavy polishing rounds off the case edges and cannot be undone, so crisp lugs and bevels are a good sign. On a diamond-set dial, confirm the dial is Rolex’s own and not an aftermarket setting, because that changes the value. Compare the serial number on the case with the papers, and check whether the original box and papers are included. Every listing states whether the watch is new or pre-owned, and shipping and returns are free.

Rolex Daytona Platinum FAQ

Does Rolex still make the platinum Daytona?

Yes. The current model is the 126506, introduced in 2023 with calibre 4131 and a transparent case back. Rolex makes it with an ice-blue dial and with an ice-blue dial set with diamonds. It replaced the 116506, made from 2013 to 2023.

What is the retail price of the platinum Rolex Daytona?

As of September 2026, Rolex lists the 126506 in the United States at $84,600 with the ice-blue dial and at $91,200 with the diamond-set dial. Rolex can change these prices without notice, and a new 126506 bought outside an authorized dealer usually costs more.

What is the difference between the 116506 and the 126506?

Both are 40 mm, in 950 platinum, with a chestnut brown Cerachrom bezel and the ice-blue dial. The 126506 moves from calibre 4130 to calibre 4131, with the Chronergy escapement, and adds a sapphire case back that shows the movement, where the 116506 has a solid back. It also has the slightly reworked case, bezel and dial of the 2023 Daytona generation.

Why is the ice-blue dial only on platinum Rolex watches?

Rolex reserves ice blue for its platinum models, so the dial color is a signal of the metal. On the Daytona it has only ever been paired with the platinum case, the 116506 and the 126506.

Why do some listings say “Price on request”?

At this level, many watches change hands without a posted figure, because the market moves faster than a listing can. A watch marked price on request is available, so contact us for the current figure. Sold watches are marked as sold on the listing itself.
