What the 2023 Generation Changed

Calibre 4131 replaced the 4130 that had run since 2000. It keeps the vertical clutch and column wheel that make the Daytona’s chronograph start without the second hand jumping, and adds the Chronergy escapement, Paraflex shock absorbers and a Parachrom hairspring. Power reserve stays at 72 hours, and the watch is certified as a Superlative Chronometer at −2/+2 seconds a day. The case was reworked at the same time. The lugs are slightly slimmer, the bezel ring sits marginally narrower against the dial, and the chronograph pushers gained their screw-down collars. The changes are subtle in photographs and obvious side by side with a 116509, the reference the 126509 replaced after fifteen years in the catalogue.
