Rolex Oyster Perpetual Yellow

The yellow dial is one of the shortest-lived colors of the modern Oyster Perpetual. Rolex introduced it in September 2020 as a glossy lacquer dial on three sizes, the 41, the 36 and the 31, and dropped it in 2022, about two years later. It is no longer in the Rolex catalog, so today it is bought pre-owned. Below are the yellow Oyster Perpetual watches we have in stock and those we have sold.

Rolex Oyster Perpetual Yellow Dial Price

At Watch My Diamonds, the most recent Rolex Oyster Perpetual yellow dial listing was priced at $19,950.

At launch in September 2020, the yellow Oyster Perpetual cost $5,900 in the 41 mm size, $5,600 in 36 mm and $5,200 in 31 mm at an authorized Rolex retailer in the United States. Since Rolex stopped making it, the only way to buy one is on the secondary market, and the price depends on the size, the condition and whether the box and the warranty card come with the watch.

The Yellow Dial References

Rolex made the yellow dial in three sizes. It was never offered on the 34 mm or the 28 mm.

Model Reference Calibre US retail, 2020
Oyster Perpetual 41 124300-0004 3230 $5,900
Oyster Perpetual 36 126000-0004 3230 $5,600
Oyster Perpetual 31 277200 2232 $5,200

On the 41 mm and the 36 mm, the suffix -0004 identifies the yellow dial. Neither the 124300-0004 nor the 126000-0004 appears on rolex.com today.

A Two-Year Production Run

Rolex rebuilt the Oyster Perpetual in September 2020. The 41 mm ref. 124300 replaced the 39 mm model, and five lacquer colors joined the silver, black and blue dials: yellow, coral red, green, turquoise blue and candy pink. Yellow went to the 41, the 36 and the 31.

In 2022 Rolex dropped the yellow and the coral red from the range, after about two years of production. That makes the yellow one of the shortest-lived dials of the modern Oyster Perpetual, and one reason the watch now sells above its original retail price.

Yellow came back once, in a different form. The Celebration dial of 2023 scattered bubbles in the five lacquer colors, yellow included, across the dial of the 41, the 36 and the 31. It is no longer in the catalog either.

Yellow Dial or Yellow Gold?

“Yellow” on an Oyster Perpetual can mean two different watches. This page is about the yellow dial on the steel Oyster Perpetual. The current Rolex catalog also has Oyster Perpetuals in 18 ct yellow gold, the 28 mm ref. 276208 and the 34 mm ref. 124208, and in yellow Rolesor, Oystersteel combined with yellow gold, on the 31 mm ref. 277203, the 36 mm ref. 126003 and the 41 mm ref. 134303. None of them has a yellow dial.

What to Check Before You Buy

  • The reference. The warranty card shows the date of purchase and the model reference without the dial suffix: 124300 for the 41 mm, 126000 for the 36 mm, 277200 for the 31 mm. Make sure the card, the watch and the listing describe the same model and size.
  • The dial. Look at it under direct light: the lacquer should be an even, glossy yellow with no spots or marks.
  • The bezel and the clasp. The case is brushed, but the domed bezel is polished, and on a pre-owned watch the bezel and the clasp pick up marks before anything else.
  • Box and warranty card. Ask whether both come with the watch: the Rolex international guarantee lasts five years from the date on the card.
  • The bracelet links. Check that any links taken out when the watch was sized come with it.

Every watch we sell is inspected and authenticated in house before it ships.
