Rolex Olive Day-Date FAQ
When did Rolex introduce the olive green Day-Date?
At Baselworld 2016, to celebrate 60 years of the Day-Date, which Rolex first presented in 1956. The first olive references were the Day-Date 40 in Everose gold, ref. 228235, and in white gold, ref. 228239.
Is the olive dial Day-Date still in production?
Yes. As of September 2026, every reference in the table above is listed in Rolex’s current catalogue on rolex.com.
How is olive green different from the other green Day-Date dials?
Olive is a deep, muted green with a sunray finish that shifts from bright moss to a dark forest tone as the light moves. Rolex also makes the Day-Date with a green ombré dial that darkens toward the edge, a green aventurine dial and a bright green diamond-set dial. Compare them in our green dial Day-Date collection, or see olive dials on other Rolex models in olive Rolex.
