Rolex Concentric Dial
A Rolex concentric dial has a center engraved with fine rings that spread out from the hands like ripples, usually paired with Arabic numerals. Rolex fitted it to the Datejust 36, the Datejust 31, the Lady-Datejust 26, the Oyster Perpetual and the 34 mm Air-King ref. 114200, in colors that include black, blue and silver. None of those references is still in production, so every watch here is pre-owned. Below are the concentric dial Rolex watches we have in stock and those we have sold.

What Is a Rolex Concentric Dial?
“Concentric” describes a pattern, not a model. The center of the dial is engraved with fine circles that share one midpoint, so the surface catches the light in rings. A sunburst dial is different: its lines run outward from the center like rays. You will also see the same dial listed as a “concentric circle” or “concentric Arabic” dial. All three names mean the same thing.
On the steel and two-tone watches on this page, Rolex paired the pattern with Arabic numerals, which gives them a sportier, more casual face than a stick or Roman dial. The layout changes with the model. On the Datejust the rings run from the hands out to the minute track, with Arabic numerals around the dial and the date window at 3 o’clock. On the Air-King the rings fill a colored center, and the chronometer text is printed on a band around it.
Rolex Models with a Concentric Dial
These are the references we have listed with a concentric dial. Each reference links to every watch we have for it, whatever the dial.

| Datejust 36 | 116201 | 36 mm steel with Everose gold, smooth bezel | Cal. 3135 | Black with pink gold numerals |
| Datejust 31 | 178240 | 31 mm steel | Cal. 2235 | Silver |
| Datejust 31 | 178274 | 31 mm steel, fluted white gold bezel | Cal. 2235 | Black |

Rolex made the Air-King ref. 114200 from 2007 to 2014, and it was among the first Air-King models with chronometer certification. Its concentric dial came with a blue or a silver center, both with orange numerals.
Rolex also put the pattern on the Oyster Perpetual 36 ref. 116000, where the Arabic numerals appear only at three, six and nine o’clock, and at the top of the range on the platinum Day-Date II ref. 218206, with an ice blue dial. If one of those is the watch you want, tell us and we will look for it.
Concentric Dial Colors
Black is the color we see most often on the Datejust, in steel and in two-tone. On the two-tone ref. 116201 the numerals and hands are pink gold to match the Everose bezel. Blue is best known from the Air-King and also turns up on the Lady-Datejust 26. Silver is the quietest of the three: the rings show mainly when the light moves across the dial.
Rolex Concentric Dial Price
Price depends mostly on the model and the metal, then on condition and on whether the box and papers come with the watch. A two-tone watch costs more than the same model in steel.
At Watch My Diamonds, Rolex concentric dial watches range from $6,899 to $10,922 across 3 priced listings.
That range is taken from our priced listings for this dial, including watches we have already sold, so read it as a guide to what these watches trade for. Watches marked “Price on request” are quoted by phone, email or chat. Watches marked “Sold” stay on the page as a record of what we have handled. If the one you want is gone, contact us and we will look for the same reference and dial.
What to Check Before You Buy
Start with the dial itself. On a watch of this age, ask whether the dial is the original Rolex dial or a later replacement, and compare the listing photos with the reference: a 116200 should have a smooth steel bezel, a 178274 a fluted white gold one. Then look at the bracelet for stretch, ask when the watch was last serviced, and confirm what comes with it.
Every watch we sell is inspected and authenticated by our in-house certified horologists in New York and comes with our one-year mechanical warranty.
Rolex Concentric Dial FAQs
What is a concentric dial on a Rolex?
It is a dial whose center is engraved with fine circles around a single midpoint, so it reflects light in rings. On the Datejust, Lady-Datejust and Air-King it comes with Arabic numerals.
Which Rolex models have a concentric dial?
The Datejust 36 (refs. 116200, 116201), the Datejust 31 (refs. 178240, 178274), the Lady-Datejust 26 (ref. 179174), the Air-King (ref. 114200), the Oyster Perpetual 36 (ref. 116000) and the platinum Day-Date II (ref. 218206).
Does Rolex still make the concentric dial?
The references that carried it have all been replaced by newer generations. The Air-King 114200, for example, ended in 2014. That is why the concentric dial watches on this page are pre-owned.
Is a concentric dial the same as a sunburst dial?
No. A sunburst dial has fine lines running outward from the center like rays. A concentric dial has rings around the center.
