Rolex Caliber 2135
The Rolex Caliber 2135 is an automatic movement introduced in the late 1970s, designed specifically for smaller Rolex models such as the Lady-Datejust and midsize Datejust references. Despite its compact size, the 2135 is one of the most precise small-format mechanical movements Rolex has ever produced. In fact, it held the record for the most accurate chronometer-certified movement under 20mm for many years. Show more
The 2135 operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), offering a smooth second-hand sweep and excellent timekeeping stability. It features automatic winding, a free-sprung balance, and a durable Perpetual rotor that ensures consistent winding with minimal wrist movement. The movement uses a lever escapement, high-quality jewel bearings, and shock-resistant components to maintain accuracy even with daily wear.
Rolex engineered the 2135 for serviceability and longevity. It includes a quickset date mechanism that allows fast adjustment of the date without moving the hour hand—a major upgrade over older calibers. The movement is also COSC-certified, meeting the strict chronometer standards that define Rolex reliability.
