Rolex Datejust 36 White Dial

The 36 mm is the original proportion and the deepest part of this collection. A Rolex Datejust 36mm white dial covers everything from a 1990s two-tone 16233 to the current 126234, and the Rolex Datejust white Roman dial on a fluted bezel is the configuration most buyers picture when they picture a Datejust. It suits wrists from roughly 6.5 to 7.5 inches and is the easiest size to resell.

Rolex Datejust 41 White Dial

The Rolex Datejust 41mm white dial — references 126300 and 126334, and the earlier Datejust II 116300 and 116334 — is the modern default for a men's watch. The larger dial carries the white ground and applied indexes particularly well, and the current 126300 and 126334 run the calibre 3235 with a 70-hour power reserve.

Lady-Datejust in 31 mm, 28 mm and 26 mm

The smaller cases are where the white dial gets its most decorative treatments: diamond bezels, white gold fluted bezels, and Roman numerals on the 278240, 278274 and 279171 families, plus the discontinued 26 mm 179160.

"White dial" covers several different faces, and the marker style changes the character of the watch more than the case metal does.

• White Roman dial — the dressiest option, with Roman numerals and usually a fluted bezel. The most common configuration in our stock.
• White index dial — applied baton markers in white gold surrounds. The cleanest, most modern reading of the Datejust.

• White Arabic dial — numerals at 6 and 9, a vintage-leaning look on 36 mm references such as the 16233.
