Factory gem-set references leave Breitling’s own workshops with the stones already set. In this collection that covers the 28mm and 32mm Breitling Chronomat diamond bezel models, the 36mm ice blue, champagne and mother-of-pearl automatics, the 18k red gold Super Chronomat 38mm and the gem-set Navitimer B01 41mm. The bezel is part of the original specification, the diamonds are selected and set to Breitling’s own standard, and the watch keeps its full factory warranty along with its position on the resale market.
Custom diamond bezel work is set afterwards by an independent jeweler. It costs considerably less than the factory equivalent and opens up references Breitling never offered with stones — the diamond bezel Breitling Super Avenger 48mm in white dial, the Superocean A44360 and the Colt A1738811/BD44 are all aftermarket.
