Our Story
It is easily understood that a person in possession of good taste must, sooner or later, find themselves in want of an exceptional jewel—or, perhaps, a very fine watch.
At WMD however, we have always believed that such a purchase should offer more than beauty alone. It should be accompanied by knowledge, integrity, and the quiet assurance that one is in capable hands.
Our story began when we arrived in New York as immigrants, bringing with us no great inheritance beyond ambition, perseverance, and the values entrusted to us by our family. We were taught to work diligently, to treat every person with respect, and never to place our name upon anything we could not stand behind with confidence.
We first found our calling in fine jewelry. Diamonds proved to be demanding but excellent instructors. Guided by the standards of the Gemological Institute of America, we learned that brilliance alone is not sufficient. True value is discovered in structure, proportion, craftsmanship, and character—qualities that, one might observe, are equally desirable in both precious stones and people.
In time, our attention turned naturally toward fine watches. What began as a service offered to trusted clients became, over the past sixteen years, a genuine devotion to horology. We came to understand that a distinguished watch is never merely worn. It accompanies its owner through achievements, celebrations, journeys, and all those private moments by which a life is truly measured.
Today, Aminoff brothers brings these two worlds together. Our team of gemologists, horologists, setters, polishers, and specialists examines every piece with great care. Nothing is selected merely because it is impressive at first glance. It must possess quality, integrity, and lasting significance.
Yet expertise, however valuable, is not the whole of our business. Trust cannot be announced with any success; it must be earned gradually through honest guidance, consistent service, and the proper treatment of those who place their confidence in us.
For this reason, our relationship with a client does not conclude when a purchase is made. We remain available before, during, and after every sale—to answer questions, offer guidance, and provide the personal attention such an important decision deserves.
