Rolex Oyster Perpetual 34mm Watches
The Oyster Perpetual 34 is Rolex’s time-only Oyster in a 34 mm case: no date, a domed bezel and nothing on the dial but the hours, minutes and seconds. The current steel reference, the 124200, runs on the calibre 2232 and lists at $6,400 on rolex.com, and in 2026 Rolex added versions in 18 kt Everose and yellow gold. This page also includes the Oyster Perpetual Date, the 34 mm Rolex with a date window that was made from the 1950s until 2021. The 2026 Gold Oyster Perpetual 34
At Watches and Wonders in April 2026, Rolex added 18 kt gold to the Oyster Perpetual 34. The 124208 in yellow gold and the 124205 in Everose gold keep the domed bezel, with black, white or blue stone dials. The 124248RBR and the 124245RBR add a diamond-set bezel and a diamond-set dial in mother-of-pearl, turquoise blue or brown stone. All of them use the same calibre 2232 as the steel 124200, and at $37,100 to $45,850 they cost roughly six to seven times as much.
The Oyster Perpetual Date: the 34 mm Rolex With a Date
Many of the vintage watches on this page are Oyster Perpetual Dates, better known as the Rolex Date. Rolex introduced the Date in the 1950s, about a decade after the 36 mm Datejust, with the same dial layout and the same Cyclops lens over the date window, in a 34 mm case. It stayed in the catalog for more than six decades until Rolex discontinued it in 2021, which leaves the time-only Oyster Perpetual 34 as the current 34 mm steel Rolex.
| Generation | Years | Calibre | References on this page |
|---|---|---|---|
| 653x | Mid-1950s | 1035 | 6534 |
| 15xx | About 1960 to the late 1970s | 1565, later 1575 | 1500 with a smooth bezel, 1501 with an engine-turned bezel |
| 150xx | 1980s | 3035 | 15000 with a smooth bezel, 15010 with an engine-turned bezel |
| 152xx | About 1989 to 2005 | 3135 | 15200 |
| 1152xx | 2005 to 2021 | 3135 | 115200, 115234 with a fluted white gold bezel |
The four-digit 15xx models have acrylic crystals and are water resistant to 50 meters. From the 150xx on, the Date is rated to 100 meters, and the 152xx brought a sapphire crystal. You will find more of them in our Rolex Date category.
Buying a Pre-Owned Oyster Perpetual 34
Every watch we sell comes with our guarantee of authenticity. When you compare listings, check:
- Reference and dial. The dial should match the reference: a 124200-0006 has a pistachio dial, and a 124245RBR has a diamond-set bezel.
- The warranty card. Rolex’s international guarantee runs for five years from the date on the card, so a 124200 bought new in 2022 or later is still covered. Make sure the card matches the serial number of the watch.
- Vintage condition. Many vintage Dates no longer have their original box and papers, so judge them on the dial, the case and the bracelet.
- Bracelet stretch. On older Oyster bracelets, check how much the links have stretched: a tight bracelet has seen less wear.
Rolex Oyster Perpetual 34 FAQ
How much is a Rolex Oyster Perpetual 34?
Rolex’s US retail price for the steel 124200 is $6,400. The 2026 gold models run from $37,100 for the yellow gold 124208 to $45,850 for the Everose 124245RBR-0002 with a mother-of-pearl dial. Our price for each watch is on its listing.
Is the Oyster Perpetual 34 a men’s or a women’s watch?
Both. Rolex sorts its watches by size, not gender; for decades 34 mm was a standard men’s size. Today the Oyster Perpetual 34 suits men with smaller wrists and women who want a slightly larger watch than the 31.
What movement is in the Oyster Perpetual 34?
The 124200 uses the calibre 2232, introduced in 2020, with a silicon Syloxi hairspring and about 55 hours of power reserve. The earlier 114200 uses the calibre 3130.
Does the Oyster Perpetual 34 have a date?
No. The Oyster Perpetual is a time-only watch. The 34 mm Rolex with a date was the Oyster Perpetual Date, discontinued in 2021; today the closest current model with a date is the Datejust 36.
What is the difference between the 124200 and the 114200?
Both are 34 mm, time-only and made of Oystersteel. The 114200 was made until 2020 with the calibre 3130; the 124200 replaced it that year with the calibre 2232 and a power reserve of about 55 hours. A 114200 made before 2014 says Air-King on the dial.
