Sometimes called "Dual Time Zone" or "Travel Time" by the brand, this is a long-standing Patek Philippe complication that adds a second hour hand to the dial, designed to display the time in another time zone. The added hand is usually rendered in a manner distinct from the local hour hand and is capable of being hidden under the local hour hand when not in use, and Patek mounts a pair of buttons in the left case flank to advance or retreat the extra hour hand.
In 2014, Patek Philippe introduced a model called Aquanaut Travel Time Ref. 5164. Its design was sporty; it had a rubber strap and allowed for two time zones to keep track of. Its dial was 40 mm in size and crafted from white gold or stainless steel.
Ref. 5524G, which we met in 2015 under the name Patek Philippe Calatrava Pilot Travel Time, is a combination of aviation and functionality. The model has an additional hour hand that can be set independently, along with two pushers on the left side of the case for quick adjustments.
